You can still enjoy your old favorites as a vegan
"Vegans are so deprived!" Ahh "Deprived" - a term I am all too familiar with, not because I feel it personally but I mean, how could I not when I have literally lost count of how many times someone asks me “but don’t you miss ‘x’? being vegan?”.
But before I continue, just right off the top so we’re clear as I know the word 'vegan' can get intertwined with healthy eating... I’m in no way shape or form promoting this leaning tower of vegan burgers, pizza, fries and ice cream as health foods. Veganism is about eliminating animal exploitation from your lifestyle in all forms. So, whether a company or you personally axes that animal exploitation from the process so that you can enjoy good ol' favorites - either way is A-OK by me! A big ethics win! Yay!
But I digress - back to all that misunderstood hearsay about vegan deprivation. Since going vegan I have been opened up to so many amazing experiences, food and non-food related. The amount of companies, chefs and foodies alike who have been using their talents and resourcefulness to recreate your old favorites is growing at an unbelievable rate. The options keep pouring on in and it's that kind of amazingness that makes the lifestyle just oh so much easier then it used to be!
So not only will you be able to enjoy many of your old favorites veganized, you will also have the excitement of trying out food that is uniquely vegan. With all that being said, I can confidently say that you won't be sacrificing anything by going vegan - in actuality you will be gaining a whole lot more and the kicker is it won't be at the expense of our animal friends.
So if you are still toying with the idea of going vegan but you think you have to give up too much and it’s not worth the trade off… I encourage you to think again and join me in chowing down on all the goodies you know and love but this time - VEGANIZED! Time to dig in!
